Ferrum Splendidum : Florian Sempey's second solo album
Following the success of his first solo album, "Figaro? Si", released in 2022 and recorded alongside the Orchestre national de Bordeaux under Marc Minkowski, Florian Sempey is preparing to record his second solo album, entitled "Ferrum Splendidum".
"Ferrum Splendidum" will be a recording centred on the greatest baritone arias: a mixture of arias by Wagner, Tchaikovsky and Donizetti, in which Florian Sempey will be accompanied by the Orchestre national de Bordeaux Aquitaine.
"Passionate about the Middle Ages and medieval fantasy since I was very young, I devoured all the books connected with the Arthurian legend or the various fairy tales in which the hero is often a valiant knight. The very image of the vigilante, defender of the oppressed, and that of the valiant lone warrior have always inspired my work and my interpretations. From early music to the contemporary repertoire, opera is rich in characters who, with sword in hand, embark on exciting adventures. That's why, for my second album, I wanted to bring together the greatest arias for baritone, whose music underlines the spirit of chivalry so well. My idea is to unravel a common thread running through a tale or legend, recounting the peregrinations of a single hero with a soul full of nobility in this wide range of lyrical works".
In order to finalise the mastering of this second solo album, a further €10,000 is needed for the recording and marketing of the album!
